About Hoover
Hoover Alabama is located in both Jefferson and Shelby Counties and is Birmingham’s largest suburb city with an estimated 73,000 residents. Hoover was named after a local insurance salesman, William H. Hoover, when it was incorporated in 1967. The local Mayor – Council government is known for getting things done and being very progressive in bringing about economic development and quality of life change for its residents. Local residents live in some of the Greater Birmingham’s most sought after residential communities.
Hoover is known for its renowned shopping venues such as the 2.4 square foot Riverchase Galleria (one of the largest shopping malls in the Southeastern United States) and its family friendly neighborhoods and master planned communities. The Ross Bridge Resort is Hoover’s newest resort area that boasts the Ross Bridge Renaissance Hotel and Spa that is located adjacent to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s flagship golf course. Greystone Country Club is also located in Hoover, Alabama and was host to one of the most popular Senior PGA Tour events for many years. Hoover is also home to the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball team and Regions Field, their home diamond, which seats over 10,000.
